Smoked Encaustic
Theme: Layered wax painting with suspended imagery, scorched atmosphere, and dense archaeological depth. Colors: Smoke black, beeswax amber, ash gray, oxidized red, warm ivory, and dark resin brown. Film Stock: Encaustic wax surface with cloudy transparency, embedded pigment, scraped passages, heat ripples, and lightly charred edges. Lighting: Low directional light that reveals wax depth, translucent layers, surface scratches, and softened internal glow. Content Transformation: Rebuild the subject through overlapping wax layers, partially obscured forms, embedded marks, scraped-back details, smoky transitions, and areas that appear preserved beneath translucent resin.
