Why This Exists
Most image generation tools are someone else's web app. That has three consequences:
- Your workflow is on loan.Vendors deprecate presets, styles, and workflows. Work that felt durable can disappear overnight.
- Outputs are watermarked.Free-tier image generators can stamp visible marks or embed provenance metadata, making commercial reuse messy.
- Costs scale with surprise.Hosted creative tools change pricing, gate features behind new tiers, and you discover it mid-project.
Foliopress puts
you in control.
Your styles live in a local database you own and can export as portable JSON. Provider credentials are yours and live in the OS credential store.
When you use your own OpenAI or Gemini API key, output is not watermarked by the platform that hosts the app. It carries only whatever provenance the model provider itself embeds. Everything else stays on disk.
How It Works
Write The Context
Start with the post, article, announcement, or campaign idea the artwork needs to support.
Pick A Style
Choose a reusable visual style, use No Style, or create your own from the local style library.
Generate Artwork
Select the aspect ratio and model, generate the artwork, then keep the full context in history.
Nine Styles.
Plus No Style.
Reusable visual styles with generated previews, plus a passthrough mode when the prompt should lead. Export all styles as portable JSON with embedded preview images, then sync or share the exported file however you want.

What You Get
Persistent Style Library
Reusable visual styles with generated previews. Create, edit, export, and import. Exports are portable JSON with embedded preview images.
Built for reusable visual systems
BYOK Provider Abstraction
Configure OpenAI, Gemini, and any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, including enterprise gateways. Models are configured separately from providers.
Keys live in the OS credential store
Generation History
Every generation is kept locally with its full context, style, model, and output. Filter by aspect ratio, re-open previous prompts, never lose a result.
Real Platform Ratios
LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube thumbnail, Open Graph, email header, and custom sizes. Pick the dimension that matches where the asset will live.
Local-First Means Specific Things.
Foliopress is built for people who want creative tooling they can inspect, control, and keep using without a hosted account becoming the center of the workflow.
What Stays Local
Styles, generated image files, style previews, history, provider profiles, model records, and app configuration stay in the platform app-data directory.
What Leaves The Machine
Only outbound generation calls to the model provider you configured. Foliopress does not add its own cloud sync layer.
Where Keys Go
API keys live in the OS credential store, not in plaintext on disk and not on Foliopress servers.
What Is Not There
No account, no telemetry, no analytics, and no remote sync.
FAQ
Do I Need My Own API Key?
Yes. Foliopress is BYOK: bring OpenAI, Gemini, or an OpenAI-compatible provider. That keeps costs transparent and credentials under your control.
Where Do My API Keys Go?
Into your OS credential store, such as Keychain on macOS or Credential Manager on Windows. They are never sent to Foliopress servers.
Is My Data Sent Anywhere?
Only the generation request goes to the provider you configured. There is no telemetry, analytics, account, or remote sync.
Is The Artwork Watermarked?
Foliopress adds no watermark. Output carries only whatever provenance the selected model provider itself embeds.
Does It Work Offline?
The app runs locally, but generation needs the provider API you configured. Local no-auth image runtimes are roadmap, not shipped.
Mac And Windows?
Yes. Foliopress is planned for macOS and Windows. Early access availability will follow the build pipeline.
